Belarusian Men of Law Go to China

On August 11-14, 2006 representatives of the public association “Belarusian Republican Union of Lawyers” are to take part in the First Law Week of China and the CIS countries in the town of Urumqi. The Belarusian delegation is to be represented by the Chairman of the Supreme economic Court Viktar Kamenkou, his deputy Alyaksei Yahorau, a prosecutor general Pyotr Miklashevich, Justice Minister Viktar Halavanau, experts of the state agencies and expert lawyers.

Participation in this forum is continuation of cooperation between legal organizations of Belarus and China. As we have informed, this cooperation started on July 5 in Minsk by signing Memorandum on legal cooperation and exchange between the public association “Belarusian Republican Lawyers Union” and “Chinese legal Society”.

The program of the First Law Week is to be aimed at reinforcing an exchange between jurists of the participating countries, improvement of economic ties, creation of a favourable legal atmosphere for reliable investments and trade.

The aim of the visit of the Belarusian delegation is establishing long-term working contacts for securing legal information exchange and defense of interests of native business at Chinese market. Besides, participation in the event would make it possible for carry out a comparative analysis of the Chinese legal system in order to adopt good professional practice.
