NEWS  Young Activist Fined In Baranavichy 18:27, 10/08/2006 On August 10 the court of Baranavichy district and Baranavichy, fined a young activists Yuliya Kharkevich 20 basic units (620 thousand BYR, or $288). The girl was charged with violation of the article 167 of the Administrative Code – “holding unsanctioned protest”. Yuliya Kharkevich was detained in Baranavichy during the protest on July 16, on the Day of Belarusian Solidarity. Baranavichy dwellers gathered in the town center with burning candles and portraits of Belarusian political prisoners and abducted oppositionists.
