Foreign minister of Belarus is staying on visit to South Africa 19:32, 28/08/2006
Foreign minister of Belarus Sergei Martynov is staying on a working visit to the Republic of South Africa, BelTA was informed in the foreign ministry. The minister is accompanied by a delegation of the Belarusian business and scientific circles.
During the visit the delegation is scheduled to meet with South Africa’s administration to discuss issues on the bilateral cooperation. Several intergovernmental agreements are expected to be signed.
Belarus and South Africa has been coordinating agreements on mutual legal aid in criminal case and extradition. Pending is the legal-treaty base between the Belarus and South Africa. The countries have already signed intergovernmental agreements on trade-economic cooperation, avoidance of double taxation, sci-tech cooperation. Protocol on cooperation between foreign ministries, memorandum on understanding between Belarusian State University and Pretoria University and other documents were signed as well.
