Expenses for Army Battle Training Grew 2.4 Times 11:32, 28/08/2006
This year 2.4 as much money has been earmarked for battle training events of the Military Forces of Belarus as compared to the year 2005, Interfax was told by deputy Defense Minister of Belarus Major General Yury Merantsou. “Previously we had problems with preparation of pilots because of lack of fuel for training planes, and this year 2.2 times as much money has been received, and we additionally have bought 10 training military planes L-39,” he said.
“For a better training and making the number of control flights of young pilots lower, training systems of planes Su-27, MiG-29, L-39 are used. It makes the skills of military pilots better, shortens the terms of their training for receiving high-class skills, and to preserve of military planes,” Y. Merantsou said.
“Training centres are equipped with modern trainers of tanks and infantry combat vehicles, computer simulators for training in shooting from small arms, grenade launchers and flame projectors. Almost all of them have been produced at our native plants, and are highly competitive with analogous Russian equipment, but are more economical,” the general added.
