Frontier Guards Got Oppositionists off the Train 17:47, 29/08/2006
Today at 2.30 p.m. the chairman of Brest regional branch of social-democratic party of Alyaksandr Kazulin, Ihar Maslouski, and former chairman of Brest regional branch Ryhor Rutski, who were on their way to Kyiv, were got off the train.
Ihar Maslouski and Ryhor Rutski were detained and got off the train. Personal search and inspection of all their belongings has been carried out. The search was video filmed. Personal notebooks were seized. Frontier guards haven’t provided any explanations of detention. At the moment Ihar Maslouski and Ryhor Rutski stay at the railway station waiting for a next train. As we have informed, on August 21 the same procedure was undergone by 26 young activists who headed for a Ukrainian town of Shatsk.
Brest regional organization views this fact as continuation of repressions against activist of the party.
