Communists Bugged By Japanese Kimono 17:45, 30/08/2006
Minsk city committee of pro-regime Communist Party of Belarus is preparing a statement concerning a Japanese exhibition held in the House-Museum of the Russian Social Democratic Labour Party (RSDLP).
“Belarusian Communists are indignant at the fact that an exhibition having nothing to do with the history of the world Communist movement is held in the Museum of the First Congress of the Russian Social Democratic Labour Party. Minsk city executive committee of the Communist Party of Belarus is preparing a statement on that,” Interfax was told on Wednesday by the first secretary of Minsk city executive committee of the CPB Valery Drako.
The deputy chairman of the commission on international affairs and relations with the CIS of the “chamber of representatives” Syarhei Kastyan called holding exhibitions in the House-Museum of the first congress of the RSDLP “a sacrilege and jeer at feelings of millions of Communists all over the world”.
“This historical place in the center of the city is visited by delegations from different countries. It is hard to imagine how they take exhibiting of clothes and household articles in the house where the Communist movement had originated,” Syarhei Kastsyan said.
