A Report Drawn Up Against Participants of Anti-Fascist Picket 17:55, 31/08/2006
On August 30 in Minsk riot policemen detained seven underage youth activists. Young people held an anti-fascist picket in Victory Square. They stood near the Eternal Flame with an official red and green flag and a streamer “Down with Fascist regime!”
In the police department, as the press service of the United Civil Party informs, young people were videotaped and fingerprinted. Reports for violation of the Article 162 of the Administrative Code have been drawn against participants of the protest younger than 16. According to this article, parents are responsible for violations of their children. Ruslan Matsveeu, who is 16, is charged with violation of the Article 167 Part 1 (holding an unsanctioned rally. The cases of the young people are to be studied by administrative commissions.
As participants of the picket told, their protest was timed to the birthday of Alyaksandr Lukashenka.
