SWAT Officers Trained to “Love Fuehrer” 18:27, 04/09/2006
A deputy chairman of the Belarusian Popular Front Party Viktar Ivashkevich read an issue of a magazine “Spetsnaz” (Special Task Force) (Number 4, 2006). This magazine is distributed in institutions where internal troops of the Internal Affairs Ministry are trained. An article “We have an honour!” at the 4th page of the magazine provokes much interest.
The article starts with enumeration of some clauses of an officer’s code of honour of an officer of the Internal Affairs Ministry. It is said about being devoted to one’s country, about respect to senior colleagues. Under an epigraph which ends in words “having increased the glory of our ancestors, For faith! For Russia! For Love!”, the article “We have an honour!” starts. After standard reflections on what honour and dignity mean for an officer, the author quotes Russian proverbs and sayings on that theme. After that the author writes: “I think it would be not without interest for many people to read a code of honour written by Adolph Hitler. Though his personality is odious, it is worth considering many postulates declared by the code”.
Then he quotes the code of honour of Adoloh Hitler written on August 9, 1941 in the Fuehrer’s headquarters. Some of them are: “Love for Fuehrer, nation and fatherland must be supreme. That is why an officer must divide himself from those who set themselves apart from the German path and fight”. “Fidelity means to carry out one’s duty till the end”. “An officer must respond immediately to defamation by action, to prevent all attempts to assault him again”.
“This article confirms that hints of Lukashenka to some sayings of Adolph Hitler are not a coincidence,” Viktar Ivashkevich says. “It is an open mentioning of a totalitarian ideology, a dictatorship. Guys who later are to oppose peaceful demonstrators at our meetings are brought up at such articles”.
