Political Prisoner Mikalay Statkevich Transferred to Collective Farm of Blon Village :: Charter'97 :: News

Today a group of Belarusian politicians who have arrived to visit political prisoner, a leader of Belarusian Social Democrats Mikola Statkevich at his new place of serving punishment, a village of Sitniki, Pukhavichy district Minsk region, have found out that the politician is to be transferred to another place again. Now he is sent to the village of Blon, Radio Svaboda informs.

A person in charge of the party of prisoners who refused to present himself, copied passport details of all who had come to visit Statkevich: the leader of the democratic forces Alyaksandr Milinkevich, a deputy chairman of the steering committee of the Belarusian Social Democratic party “Narodnaya Hramada” Alyaksandr Arastovich, a deputy chairman of the Belarusian Popular Front Party Viktar Ivashkevich, Alyaksei Yanukevich and journalists.

Mikola Statkevich was transferred to Sitna from Baranavichy, where he was serving the sentence for organizing mass protest rallies against rigged elections results of parliamentary election sand referendum. In Sitna he spent only two days.

In the village of Blon the leader of the Social Democrats is most likely to work at a local collective farm.
