Lukashenka Flied to Cuba via Africa

Today morning Lukashenka has arrived to Havana. But his way to Cuba was a long and winding one. The optimal way would be trough air space of Iceland and Canada. Then it could be a non-stop flight. But these countries haven’t given permission for the presidential plane to fly over their territory, as Lukashenka is banned entry to the EU, US and a number of other states. That is why, as Salidarnasts writes, Belarusian leader had to get to Havana by avoiding routes, via Africa.

Preventive Arrests of Young Activists in Mahilyou

About 20 young activists and journalists were detained in Mahilyou in an office of a human rights organization. In an interview to the BelaPAN the leader of the Young Front Zmitser Dashkevich told that a group of riot policemen stormed an apartment where the meeting was held. They told that they had been informed that a box of TNT was stored in the apartment. No explosives were found in the office.

Siuchyk Imprisoned, Though His Sentence Reversed

An opposition activist Vyachaslau Siuchyk has been arrested for 10 days, though the ruling of Minsk city court vacated the sentence of the court of Tsentralny district of Minsk that had sentenced Siuchyk to arrest in March this year, Radio Svaboda informs.

Young Front Leader Zmitser Dashkevich Arrested

The leader of the Young Front Zmitser Dashkevich is arrested. The prosecutor’s office of Belarus has issued a sanction for arrest, the Charter’97 press center was informed by an activist of the organization Artur Finkevich. It is known that a criminal action has been initiated on charges relating article 193 of the Criminal Code (involvement in activities of an unregistered organization). The matter concerns “political” amendments to the Criminal Code made in the run-up to the presidential election sin Belarus.
