Director of National Park “Braslau Lakes” Sentenced to 10 Years of Imprisonment 17:55, 22/09/2006
A former director of the National Park Braslau lakes has been sentenced to 10 years of imprisonment, Interfax was told in the prosecutor’s office of Belarus. As said by a prosecutor’s office spokesperson, “a court of Vitsebsk region has sentenced the former director of the national park Braslau lakes to 10 years of imprisonment; a former head of the fauna, water reservoirs and game husbandry protection department to 6 years of imprisonment; a former bookkeeper to 4 years of imprisonment”.
The ruling by judges of Vitsebsk regional court was passed in Braslau district court.
As Interfax informed earlier with reference to the prosecutor’s office of Belarus, in 2005 a criminal action was brought up against the former director of the National park “Brasalu lakes” and his employees. In the investigation carries out by the prosecutor’s office and Interior Ministry it has been found out that “gross violations of a hunt order, fishing have been made. Hunt was organized year-round, not all visitors paid for services”.
