Gazprom Threatens to Cut Off Gas for Belarus on January 1, 2007
12:10, 20/11/2006

“Gazprom” expects the final evaluation of “Beltransgaz” to understand how much this company costs, Interfax was told by a representative of “Gazprom” Sergei Kupriyanov. Answering the question whether it is possible to have the final evaluation of this campaign, Kupriyanov said: “We wouldn’t like to start vigil on January 1, we would like to come to an agreement”. At the same time, he admitted that it would be difficult to find and agreement.

He said that “Gazprom” hopes that “Beltrasngaz” evaluation would be made after the CIS summit in the end of November.

Answering the question about the relations with Georgia, Kupriyanov said that the Georgian side “is not hurrying to find and agreement with us”. “I hope that on January1 it would not be necessary to “cut off” anything, which is possible in the case of Belarus”.
