Human Rights Watchdog Detained in Babrujsk 15:37, 05/01/2007
Today a well-known human rights activist Ihar Khotska has been detained today. As the human rights center Viasna informs, Khotska was detained by policemen on suspicion in committing a theft. He was placed to a police department in Babrujsk.
“It’s another fact of bullying an activist,” a lawyer Uladzimir Labkovich said. “Such methods are often used by policemen, especially during the election campaign. In his town Khotska is a well-known public activist. He is intimidated all the time, and this case is another manifestation of this pressure”.
