Talks with Belarus are to start after cancellation of illegal customs transit Russian oil, said state secretary, deputy minister of Trade and Economic Development Andrei Sharonov to Ekho Moskvy radio station.
As said by him, the decision on talks is likely to be passed today evening at the level of heads of government.
“Belarus has cast prudence to the winds, starting to take off oil for Russia’s non-payment of illegally imposed duty,” A. Sharonov said. “It looks like a trade war”.
However, as said by the state secretary, Russia has all chances for taking retaliatory measures against Belarus.
“One shouldn’t forget that Russia is the largest market and a trade partner number one for Belarus,” he explained. “That is why we have possibilities to take measures against Belarus and gain our point in cancelling duties”.
