Amnesty International Holds Action of Solidarity with Kazulin 11:56, 11/01/2007
Human rights organization Amnesty International has called upon its members to send letters of solidarity and support to the former candidate for presidency in Belarus, a political prisoner Alyaksandr Kazulin, to Vitsebsk colony No.3, and to send letters to Belarusian government demanding immediate release of Alyaksandr Kazulin as a prisoner of conscience.
Amnesty International reminds Belarusian authorities about their commitments to observe the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights guaranteeing freedom of expression, meetings and associations, and demands to stop intimidation and harassment of civil society activists engaged in human rights protection in Belarus.
Amnesty International urges the Belarusian regime to investigate fully and objectively the facts of cruel treatment of the former candidate for presidency in Belarus Alyaksandr Kazulin by state secret services, and to guarantee his complete rehabilitation, the press-service of the politician informs.
