Second Official Warning to Political Prisoner Artur Finkevich
18:01, 11/01/2007

The administration of Mahilyou corrective labour facility of an open time has issued a second official warning to a political prisoner Artur Finkevich. Actions of the director of the corrective labour facility are aimed at depriving the activist of liberty and sending him to a colony, the Young Front believes.

For the last weeks the corrective labour facility has been exerting pressure on Artur Finkevich. The activist had to celebrate the New Year in the room of the facility. He was prohibited even to go to the post office or to a shop.

On January 6 Finkevich was finally allowed to leave the corrective labour facility for two hours to go to a sauna. The formal reason for a warning was being late for 13 minutes.

As A. Finkevich told to the Charter’97, the director of the corrective labour facility police lieutenant colonel Alyaksandr Lamaza and his assistant major Syarhei Kuzkou are warning him that they can issue more warnings and send him to a colony. “Oout of 300 inmates, only I am treated in this way. I think there was an order from higher levels of power. Recent events show that the authorities have started a campaign against the Young Front again,” Artur Finkavich said.

As we have informed, Artur Finkevich had been sentenced to twp years of restriction of freedom for graffiti “We want a new one!” and “Fed up with him!”
