Oppositionists Detained All Over Belarus

On Thursday in the end of the day a civil activist Maxim Hubarevich was detained in Hrodna. He was detained near a polling station. Maxim Hubarevich is an agent of Syarehi Antusevich, a member of the Belarusian Popular Front party, who is running for the city council.

The detainee was placed to a special detention center of the police department of Kastrychnitski district. Policemen state that he had been using foul language. Today Maxim Hubarevich is to be taken to the court.

Democratic activists in Homel, Brest, Pruzhany, Barysau were detained yesterday. Most of them are to stand trial today. As usual politicians are to be groundlessly charged with hooliganism.
