The Ministry of Information obliges to broadcast «NTV-Belarus» channel by cable and air linking systems :: Charter'97 :: News

According to the Ministry of Information order the “NTV-Belarus” television channel broadcasting by cable and air linking systems becomes obligatory. The “Cosmos TV” firm, a multi-channel television operator in Minsk, received corresponding order of Minsk City Council on January 12.

“In view of the “NTV-Belarus” new television program registration”… Minsk City Council obliges you to retransmit (bring to the notice of subscribers) this channel in the television programs social package”, - informs the letter, referring to the Ministry of Information.

“The information about implementation should be presented to the Minsk City Council Ideological Work Department till January 25, 2007”, – informs the letter, signed by the Deputy Head of Minsk City Council Mr. M.Titiankou.

The “Cosmos TV” Public Relations Director Mr. Aliaksandr Karnavuhau commented this statement in a next way: “We received the order and like law-abiding citizens have to fulfill it. We included this channel into the program package of the air television; there “NTV-Belarus” is broadcast instead of “Nashe Kino” channel. And we are broadcasting “NTV-Belarus” on cable television since the beginning of this year”.

According to Mr. A.Karnavuhau, the “NTV. Mir” channel broadcasting remains both in the air and cable broadcasting at the same time.

According to Minsk City Council, “in the case of “NTV-Belarus” good receiving absence from the surface transmitting stations you need to receive Minsk City Council and the Ministry of Information allowance on for “NTV. Otkrytiy mir” channel retransmission from a satellite”. Mr. A.Karnavuhau could not comment upon it, he said that the receiving is good and it is not clear, what this message means.
