Belarus and the European Union are ready to discuss 5-6 real joint projects in the sphere of energy. That was reported by first deputy prime- minister Uladzimir Syamashka in his interview with the BELTA correspondent. “A dialogue between Belarus and the European Union in the sphere of energy is a diplomatic issue. We have defined the points, which are to be discussed in the course of the dialogue. We are planning to start corresponding talks at the level of the deputy minister of the European Commission,” he remarked.
Uladzimir Syamashka stressed that the concrete projects had already been partially explored from the point of view of where and how and in what direction it will be possible for Belarus to cooperate with the European Union. He didn’t name the particular projects which might be implemented.” It is a commercial secrete. But no less than 5-6 projects are at our disposal. They may appear useful both to the European Union and Belarus,” the first deputy prime- minister said.
It is to be mentioned, that the Belarusian party suggested the dialogue to the European Commission and the European Commission agreed to participate in the talks on the offered subject. As it was reported by extraordinary and plenipotentiary ambassador of Germany to Belarus Martin Hekker at the press-conference on January 16, due to the established procedures, the process of such issues consideration by the European Union is usually time-and effort- consuming. However, due to the energy collision between Russia and Belarus, when the interests of other states had been touched upon, Brussels gave an instant response.
