Lukashenka is going to strike Putin on «sensitive spots» 17:19, 26/01/2007
At the ceremony of awarding Belarusian scholars with diplomas of the doctor of sciences and certificates of the professor Alyaksandr Lukashenko announced that the Russian authorities continue pressing him. “By all means they are trying to attach us firmly to them making me going to the Kremlin for the money for my people,”- Lukashenka said. ”We can’t agree with that,” he stressed.
Lukashenka pointed out that” we have always been approached with something unacceptable. And when they realized that we were tough enough they tried another technique: inviting us to join Russia. We will never merge with any other state,” he declared.
He also added” When pressed slightly we tolerated that but when they forced us risk our neck, firstly, by doubling the gas price, then by doubling it again in a year-and-half period, and then by asking us to buy oil for the price, which is absolutely unsuitable to us.” “Everything was aimed at making Russians think that the main terminator of the union relationship is nobody else but the Belarusian party and Lukashenka, in particular, “declared the Belarusian ruler.
According to him, today, at the Davos forum, the Russian party has announced that” nobody else but Lukashenka was to be blamed. They have gathered there and are singing one and the same tune. Certainly, they can’t stand Lukashenka and they could not have stood him before. But now, as soon as they have become stronger through high oil and gas prices, they have started this attack,” Lukashenka stressed.
“In the near future I’ll factually prove that the Belarusian people have not made any harm to Russia. We, unlike fraternal Russia, sacredly follow all the agreements,” Lukashenka declared. He also emphasized “We do not owe anything to anybody. We are absolutely transparent. And stop banging us”.
Moreover, Lukashenka warned that “ if they try once again to hurt us on sensitive spots by imposing various duties on our tractors, refrigerators and so on, we are also aware of their sensitive spots and know were to hurt. “
Until now Belarus has not concluded the contract for oil deliveries in February because Russia has suggested the world prices, announced Lukashenka.
“ The February contract for oil deliveries has not been signed yet because the Russian oligarchs, backed by the Russian authorities, are making us buy oil for the price higher than the world one. That won’t do and nowhere in the world you can find such things,” emphasized Lukashenka.
“That is why the negotiating delegation has been directly instructed by me: the companies suggesting such contracts and such prices when transiting oil to Europe will pay extra duties for compensation of our losses”.
