Chairman of the State Duma Boris Grizlov warned Belarusian policymakers not to use the Russian subsidies against Russia’s interests.
Commenting on the subject of power supplies in the article, published in the Thursday’s issue of the Rossiyskaya Gazeta, Grizlov declared that that Russia was still providing “large subsidies” for Belarus and promised that they would be continued: ”We shall help Belarus in implementing its sovereign rights .We shall not allow its international isolation”. Meanwhile, he warned: ”We shall not allow anybody to use the Russian subsidies against the national interests of Russia. We do not want Russian money to be directed not to real construction of the “union state” but to supporting the myth that it has already been constructed but there is still much more to be done.”
