Sidorski: “It was a difficult month for government, for real economy” 15:00, 06/02/2007
Economy growth rate in Belarus in January was about 113% as compared to the level of 2006, has said Belarusian Prime Minister Syarhei Sidorski today at a session of the Cabinet, were results of the economy of Belarus in 2006 were summed up and priorities for the year 2007 defined.
As said by Syarhei Sidorski, in 2006 14 out of 16 vital parameters of social and economic development in Belarus have been fulfilled in 2006. Thus, “a significant groundwork has been laid for 2007”, the head of the government underlined.
Speaking about economy achievements in January, Prime Minister underlined that “it was a difficult month for the government, for the real economy”. A number of measures have been taken in connection with price hike for Russian energy resources for Belarus. As a result, “the economy has managed to function the way we expected,” Syarhei Sidorski noted.
