Alyaksandr Milinkevich’s Visit to Brussels Starts

The leader of the democratic forces of Belarus Alyaksandr Milinkevich has left for Brussels on invitation of the European People’s Party (the EPP-ED group). The Charter’97 press center has been informed about that by the press-secretary of the politician Pavel Mazhejka.

On February 8 the largest European party organises a Study day on Belarus in the European Parliament in Brussels. Among the confirmed speakers will be Joseph Daul, Chairman of the EPP-ED Group, Bogdan Klich - MEP - Chairman, Delegation for relations with Belarus. In his trip to Brussels Alyaksandar Milinkevich is accompanied by Vintsuk Vyachorka, Chairman of the Belarus Popular Front, Zhana Litsvina, the chair of the Belarusian Association of Journalists, and a well-known Belarusian sociologist Andrei Vardamatski.

On February 8 a plenary session “EU and Belarus: New Challenges” is to take place in the European Parliament. The opening speech will be delivered by the chair of the European parliament Hans-Gerd Poettering.
