Kazulin’s Party Ready for Talks with Regime 14:37, 09/02/2007
Kastus Maroz, a deputy chairman of the Belarusian Social Democratic party, in an interview to Polish “Dziennik” has told that his party is ready to start negotiations with Alyaksandr Lukashenka. We want to show that in such a difficult situation of our country, we are ready for talks. It is unknown whether Lukashenka would accept this invitation,” Kastus Maroz noted.
The leader of the Belarusian Popular Front party in the interview to the newspaper expressed the readiness for talks as well. “We want to show that we are ready for talks on crucial issues for our country’s life, and we are able to talk about independence even with Lukashenka,” Vintsuk Vyachorka emphasized.
As we have informed, the leader of the united democratic forces of Belarus Alyaksandr Milinkevich has addressed an open letter to Alyaksandr Lukashenka with an appeal to start a dialogue with the Belarusian opposition for the sake of Belarus’ future and for establishing cooperation with Europe.
At the moment Alyaksandr Kazulin is serving a sentence of 5.5 years of imprisonment for staging a peaceful protest rally in March, 2006.
