Prosecutor’s Office to Impose Order In Energy Sphere 18:02, 09/02/2007
Alyaksandr Lukashenka has set a task to the prosecutor’s office of the country to impose order in the sphere of fuel and energy. “President has demanded the prosecutor general to take a comprehensive set of actions to compensate the damages to the state. He also has demanded prosecutors to be more active in imposing order in the energy sphere,” the press-service of the president told to Interfax summing up the results of the report by Prosecutor General Pyotr Miklashevich on Friday.
At the meeting A. Lukashenka noted that the prosecutor’s office, supervising exact and uniform legislative execution, “has made a considerable contribution to a social and economic stability, reinforcement of discipline and legal order, citizens’ rights and freedoms’ defence”.
The Belarusian ruler has set a task to provide procuracy supervision over implementation of the directive No.2 “On Measures of Further De-bureaucratisation of the State Machine”. “Strict measures should be taken in case of bureaucratic hurdles and red tape in all organs of authority,” the press-service informed.
P. Miklashevich has said that procuracy supervision over implementation of the legislation in the sphere of economy was a priority in the spheres which immediately influence economic, food and energy security of the state. Under procecutor’s demands 33,000 criminals have been brought to account. Common and economic courts sustained 17,500 claims and collected Br160 billion of losses, prosecutor general informed.
