At Palace Square in Warsaw an action dedicated to the Day of Solidarity started early in the morning. In the center of Polish capital an open-air exhibition of Belarusian demonstrations is set up. The action of solidarity with Belarusian political prisoners is traditionally organized by “Union for Democracy Support in Belarus”. This time a tent was set up in the Old City, with white-red-white flags over it. Warsaw dwellers and numerous visitors of the city could get acquainted with Belarus.
“We have places a symbolic tent and an exhibition of Belarusian street rallies here. After dawn we want to demonstrate several films about Belarus. We want local Belarusians and dwellers of the capital to watch them to have a visual impression about developments in Belarus. People are coming to us and saying words of support to Belarus,” told the chairman of the “Union for Democracy Support in Belarus” Antos Tsyalezhnikau.
Katsyaryna, a Belarusian girl studying in Poland, says that the action has incited a considerable interest of the Poles. Sometimes tourists from Belarus are coming to the tent.
