Prosecutor demanded 2 years of imprisonment with delay for Lukashou 18:07, 19/02/2007
19 February in Minsk at the Leninsky district court hearing of Kanstantin Lukashou, brother of a well-known public figure Vyachaslau Siuchik, lawsuit the prosecutor demanded for the defendant 2 years of imprisonment with a three years’ delay of the sentence’s coming into force.
Please, recall, that K. Lukashou was detained on December 19, 2006 .He was accused of his car’s knocking down the militia men on March 29, 2006 when he took Vyachaslau Siuchik from the surgery department of the third clinical hospital of Minsk. That day unknown persons with the IDs of militiamen tried to detain the public activist for public abuse in the hospital’s premises. But Vyachaslau Siuchik’s brother helped him to escape.
According to the prosecutor, for knocking down the militiaman by his car the defendant deserved to be accused according to the Article 364 of the Criminal Code of Belarus. The prosecutor also pointed out that the evidence of the victimized militiaman “was consistent and does not arouse any mistrust”, and the evidence of the defense’s witnesses were rather contradictory. That is why the prosecutor asked the court to ground its judgment on the evidence of the victimized person, alongside, he didn’t find any aggravated circumstances in the actions of the defendant and admitted mitigating circumstances (for example the defendant’s juvenile children, positive references from the defendant’s work) and asked the court to ascribe the punishment without imprisonment to Lukashou. According to the prosecutor, the claim of the victimized militiaman was satisfied. It is to be mentioned, that the victimized person also claimed for compensation of 2million rubles for the moral and material compensation.
