«Tov.Mauzer» presented his new album and the «Generation Jeans» song 17:30, 19/02/2007
16 February, on the Day of Solidarity, the presentation of the “Radasts” first album of the“Tov.Mauzer” group was held. Yanka Mauzer, the group’s vocalist, explained why the concert was held on 16 February and whether the date’s choice was purposeful.
“A couple of months before the debut album was launched we had been thinking over the date of its presentation and decided on 16. The decision was not by chance. 16th date of each month is the Day of Solidarity, which we support. It is a moral and not political action. And we are not indifferent to Belarus either”, says Yanka.
The first night of the “Generation Jeans” song, which attracted the audience’s attention, became the heart of the concert. Dozens of lighters and candles were lighted when the song was performed.
When presenting the song Yanka said that he dedicated the song to those “who are not with us”.
“The “Generation Jeans” song had not been included into our first album, which consists of 16 sound tracks because it was written later. That is the only song, which was written not by myself but by poet from Magilyou Vital “Vozhik”(Rizhkou). As the concert was held on 16th we made up the decision to present the “Generation Jeans” song, as well. I did not expect the audience’s response to the song. I felt and saw the solidarity on that day…”
