Public activists demand release of youth activist Dzyanis Dzyanisau 14:06, 21/02/2007
Public activists demand immediate release of participant of the tent camp, arranged in Minsk Kastrichnitskaya Square in March 2006, Dzyanis Dzyanisau and consider his detaining as exclusively political. As policymaker Vyachaslau Siuchik reported to BelaPAN, the demand was included into the appeal signed by former deputy of the Babruisk City Soviet Ales Chigir, public activist Ales Mazur and Siuchik himself.
Dzyanis Dzyanisau was detained ”on the strength of the report of holding in custody” in Gomel late on 16 February when he intended to leave for Vitsebsk. The young man was taken to the isolation ward of temporal custody. He has been charged of the crime stipulated by Article 342 Part I of the Criminal Code of Belarus (organization and preparation of group actions, roughly violating public order).
Vyachaslau Siuchik does not exclude that the events, which took place in Vitsebsk in summer 2006 when activist Kristina Shatikava hang out the white-red-white flag and “Rebel ! ” inscriptions appeared in the town, have been taken into account.
As far as Siuchik is aware, the parcels for Dzyanisau have been refused on the pretext that he is kept in Gomel temporally and is to be escorted to Vitebsk.
“We consider the Dzyanisau’s “case” as politically motivated and demand his immediate release”, the appeal runs.
Democratic activists call all political parties, public organizations and all people of good will for demand of Dzyanis Dzyanisau’s immediate release.
