Dzyanis Dzyanisau is Kept in Remand Prison No.2 in Vitsebsk 15:47, 27/02/2007
Radio Svaboda has been told about that by an officer in charge of the remand prison. On February 27 mother of the young activist, Raisa Dzyanisava, brought a parcel with food and warm clothes to her son. She is not allowed to meet with her son. As said by Raisa Dzyanisava, on February 28 a lawyer is to visit Dzyanis. She hopes to learn about charges from the lawyer.
As we have informed, on February 25 Dzyanis Dzyanisau was taken from Homel remand prison to Vitsebsk. However, he was made to dismount from the train before he arrived to the city. Raisa Dzyanisava told how she tried to meet the son on Vitsebsk railway station:
“There was no information when he would arrive. I was running around the railway station, meeting trains. You know, mother’s heart is worried. But I saw nothing. On Sunday I went to the remand prison. I wanted to bring a parcel, but they do not accept parcels on Sunday and Monday, and they gave me no information. My parcel has been admitted only today”.
Dzyanis Dzyanisau was arrested on February 16. Last year a criminal action was brought up against him on charges relating “organizing of group actions roughly violating public order”. The activist faces up to three years of imprisonment under this article.
Meanwhile, Dzyanisau’s family does not exclude that the charges could be changed, as the case has been forwarded to another investigator.
