The President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe Rene van der Linden has condemned the recent arrests of opposition leaders in Belarus, Radio Svaboda informs. Speaking in Paris, the PACE chairman has underlined that arrests are even more intolerable after during his visit to Minsk this year the authorities expressed a readiness to take a more constructive stand in relations with Europe, and to begin changes in the political climate of the county.
