Krystsina Shatsikava: “I lied tied down upon bed, some medicines were injected to me”
19:07, 26/03/2007

Today at noon a public activist Krystsina Shatsikava has been released from Mahilyou mental hospital. As K. Shatsikava told to BelaPAN, doctors haven’t formed a diagnosis. “At my meetings with doctors no questions had any concern with medicine. I was asked about my acquaintances, about who visits me, who phones me. It means that its pure politics, and not medicine. My mother was told that I am mentally sound, but just an unorthodox person,” K. Shatsikava said.

“I was lying tied down upon the bed; some medicines were syringed to me. The whole week-end I spent is a pass-out almost completely. And my mother was told that no medicines were given to me,” K. Shatsikava noted.

She told that she would challenge actions of doctors, unknown persons who had abducted her, “in all structures where possible”. Today Krystsina Shatsikava is set to be present at trials over Mahilyou oppositionists, detained during celebration of Freedom Day.

As we have informed, K. Shatsikava disappeared on March 23. Her friend Iryna Kacharova with a reference to an eye-witness told to the BelaPAN that the detention of an opposition activist was carried out by five persons in a dark car “Niva”.

On March 22 K. Shatsikava was detained in Minsk and taken by KGB officers to Mahilyou. On Friday she was summoned for interrogation to a regional department of the KGB. After that K. Shatsikava told to the BelaPAN that everything is alright with her. She also told that she planned to take part in the action on Freedom Day on March 25 in Minsk.
