Zmitser Dashkevich Transferred to Wood-Sawing Area
11:28, 02/04/2007

A political prisoner Zmitser Dashkevich has been transferred to another party of prisoners and sent to work in timber-sawing area. The parents of the activist have been informed about that from his last letters. His mother, Volha Dashkevich, is worried about the state of health of her son, as doctors had prohibited him work under arduous labour conditions. The activist’s father Vyachaslau Dashkevich turns attention to the fact who had initiated his son’s transfer to another party.

“Allegedly KGB men have read on the internet that he had a rather easy life, and ordered the administration of the colony to transfer him to most heavy work, so he was transferred. Now he is to roll logs or something like that. He writes that all people who support him, and there are many of them, are placed to an isolation ward,” the father of the Young Front leader told to Radio Svaboda.

As we have informed, Zmitser Dashkevich had been sentenced to a year and a half of imprisonment for participation in an unregistered organization. The activist serves the sentence in Shklou colony for participation in an unregistered organization. For the time of stay in prison the leader of the Young Front had four reprimands which left him without a chance to be amnestied and released earlier.
