A young activist of the democratic movement Barys Haretski has been released from a remand prison in Akrestsin Street in Minsk. The BelaPAN has been informed about that by the human rights activist Vyachaslau Siuchyk. He specified that B. Haretski was released from the prosecutor’s office of Minsk, where he had finished reading materials of the criminal case initiated against him for violation of Article 193 part 1 of the Criminal Code – “Activities on behalf of an unregistered organization”.
“In order to meet with his associate, he had to return to the building of the remand prison again,” V. Siuchyk said.
As we have informed, B. Haretski was detained on March 21 at 4.45 p.m. on his way home and taken to the police department of Pershamajski district of Minsk. Informational materials dedicated to celebration of Freedom Day on March 25 were found in his bag. In the evening the detained was taken to the remand prison. On March 22 he was sentenced to 12 days of administrative arrest for petty hooliganism. In the building of the court B. Haretski announced a hunger strike protesting against his unlawful accusation.
