Interrogations in “Vitsebsk Case” Resumed 16:22, 06/04/2007
Witnesses are interrogated by an investigator of Vitsebsk prosecutor’s office who had arrived to Minsk for that, the human rights center Viasna informs.
As we have informed, the criminal action for “organising group actions grossly violating public order” has been brought up for holding a number of actions in June 2006. A white-red-white flag and a streamer where placed on the central square of the city, leaflets were distributed, graffiti painted.
Dzyanis Dzyanisau and Tatsyana Elavaya are suspects in the case. Meanwhile, Dzyanis Dzyanisau has spent a month and a half in a remand prison.
Witnesses in the case are more than 80 persons. During the investigation actions psychological pressure had been applied on young activists. Some of them were evicted from universities. There were attempts to recruit some of them by the KGB.
