NEWS  26 April Picket Applied for in Gomel 13:41, 10/04/2007 9 April Gomel activists of the democratic forces submitted an application to the city executive committee for holding the picket on 26 April. As one of the picket initiators, member of the Party of Communists Belarusian Maria Bagdanovich reported to the BelaPAN the activists intend to protest against building of the Atomic Power Station in Belarus, to attract the public attention to the problems related to the disaster at the Chernobyl Atomic Power Station. According to M. Bagdanovich the only place in the city where the authorities allow holding such actions is a site near the “Vipra” palace of culture of the association of the deaf. The activists are going to hold the Chernobyl picket in this place.
