“Path of Chernobyl” Steering Committee Establishes Organization of Chernobyl Victims :: Charter'97 :: News

A scheduled meeting of the Steering committee of the “Path of Chernobyl” has taken place. Issues of organisational and informational preparation for the rally on April 26 have been discussed. The chairman of the Belarusian Popular Front party Vintsuk Vyachorka and the head of Chernobyl commission of the BPF party Yuras Melyashkevich have made a report on preparation to the rally which is carried out by the BPF party members.

As said by Yuras Melyashkevich, preparation for the training conference which is to take place before “the Path of Chernobyl” is taking place at the moment. The conference is to be divided into two sections: a scientific one, where reports of researchers of nuclear contamination problem after the Chernobyl catastrophe are to take place, and a practical part, which is to become an initiative group for creation of Chernobyl victims’ organization.

The organization is to unite liquidators of the Chernobyl nuclear power station accident, people relocatees from the contaminated areas, public associations.
