Lukashenka: I am not absolutely adequate at perceiving processes in the society
16:45, 12/04/2007

“As head of the powerful structure, power itself I feel myself fairly comfortable .I have recently dwelt upon that: I firmly stand on my feet. Maybe, I am not absolutely adequate at perceiving processes going in our society, but I assume that I am well aware of the things happening in our society” , A.Lukashenka said at the press-conference for Belarusian journalists in Minsk 12 April.

He also remarks that he is well aware of “where the country must to go and how it must develop”.

“At least the major guidelines of our state’s development were approved by our people at the referenda, in the process of different sort of elections: to local councils, to the parliament, at parliamentary elections. And I live not on the Moon and neither do those who work with me, President stressed. I receive enough information about the things happening. That is why, resulting from that as policymaker, as head of the political, powerful structure in the state, I feel myself fairly stable, comfortable. I feel normal. That is why least of all I paid attention during the conflict (with Russia), how I occasionally call it, <…> I feel myself politically normal. Most of all and always I was concerned, am concerned and will be concerned about economy”.
