Matskevich: Unpredicted questions disconcert Lukashenka
15:30, 13/04/2007

After yesterday’s conference of Alyaksandr Lukashenka political scientist Uladzimir Matskevich has paid attention to the fact the Belarusian leader got out of the habit of answering questions of journalists of the independent mass media. This explains his sometimes-nervous response to the journalists’ questions, says Matskevich in his interview with the Radio Svaboda:

“Long ago he got out of the habit of contacting the independent journalists. Usually everything is prepared, for this reason unexpected questions disconcert him.

The independent journalists might have been invited and multi-vector policy might have been announced because the relationship with western and not only western countries is to be built at a different level.

And the thing is that one way or another we have to meet the international economic requirements, particularly the requirements of the World Trade Organization. Because export capacities extension and development will become possible when we start playing the common game with the world around us.”
