The opposition rally in Moscow has finished. Participants of “March of Dissent” gathered on Pushkin Square at 12 noon. The square, like closest streets were filled with riot policemen. When participants made attempts to spread out streamers or chant slogans, they were immediately detained and placed to police buses. Riot policemen used force. Garry Kasparov, Maria Gaidar, Ilya Yashin were arrested on Pushkin Square.
Discounts on transport fees for students and medicines for small children have been taken for granted. Recently the Government has declared to the deputies that these allowances are excessive. The news was confirmed by Alyaksandr Lukashenka at his conference with Belarusian journalists. Belarusians are going to face cancellation of the allowances in the near future.

The Belarusian first TV channel refused its direct line to Alyaksandr Milinkevich 25 April; the Interfax was reported at the TV channel. 6 April Alyaksandr Milinkevich appealed in written form to chairman of the national state TV company Alyaksandr Zimousky for the direct line for him and “representatives of experts and liquidators” 25 April at 6 p.m. for ”giving an independent assessment of the state bodies’ activities on overcoming consequences of the Chernobyl disaster”.
President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko has left on an official visit to Oman, BelTA learnt in the presidential press service. In Muscat, the capital of Oman, Alexander Lukashenko will meet with Sultan Qaboos Bin Said to discuss issues on boosting bilateral cooperation, first of all, in the trade-economic sphere. The Belarusian president wil also meet with the deputy prime minister of Oman. The negotiations are planned to result in agreements on avoidance of double taxation and tax evasion and agreements between chambers of commerce and industry of Belarus and Oman.
President of Belarus, Aleksandr Lukashenko is paying a state visit to India from April 15-17, 2007. The Supreme Court of Belarus has dismissed a complaint of the Union of Left Parties to the denial of Justice Ministry to grant the Union state registration. Minsk tractor works (MTZ) has concluded the first contract of delivery of 15 tractors to Venezuela. As BelTA learnt at the company, MTZ specialist have visited Venezuela recently to discuss terms and conditions of the contract and bank guarantees for purchase of the tractors.
