Minsk tractor works concludes first contract with Venezuela :: Charter'97 :: News

Minsk tractor works (MTZ) has concluded the first contract of delivery of 15 tractors to Venezuela. As BelTA learnt at the company, MTZ specialist have visited Venezuela recently to discuss terms and conditions of the contract and bank guarantees for purchase of the tractors.

According to the MTZ marketing center, the growing market of Latin America is very attractive for the Belarusian producers. The first trial lot of three tractors has been dispatched to Salvador. Shipment of 100 tractors to Cuba is in progress. So far, energy-efficient 130hp tractors MTZ-1221 have been delivered to that country. Nicaragua is also on the list of big exporters of Belarusian tractors. Three tractors were shipped to Mexico in Q1.

On the whole, in Q1 Minsk Tractor Works exported 13,161 tractors to the tune of $2,086 million, an increase of 47.6% on the same time last year.

Minsk Tractor Works was established on May 29, 1946. Now it employs almost 20,000 people. Minsk Tractor Works develops, produces and exports wheeled tractors and spare parts, render maintenance services. It makes world’s top eight tractor manufactures which account for 96% of the global tractor market. Minsk Tractor Works exports to more than 60 countries worldwide.
