Chernobyl Way applicants warned deputy public prosecutor 12:19, 19/04/2007
As we reported yesterday, the Chernobyl Way applicants refused to conduct the talks at the Minsk Executive Committee in the presence of state TV operators and mass media. The Radio Svaboda informs that when leaving they warned the deputy public prosecutor of the administrative responsibility in case of violation of Clause 6 of the Administrative Code of the Republic of Belarus. The legislation prohibits changing the format and route of the action without prior arrangement with the action organizers.
Yesterday the Minsk authorities invited the Chernobyl Way applicants to the City Executive Committee for consultations. Valyantsina Palevikiva, Alyaksei Yanukevich, Yuras Zyankovich, Ales Chakholsky and Yuras Belenky got to know at the City Executive Committee that they were to have a talk with head of the department of the public security Alyaksandr Naidzyonak, deputy public prosecutor and head of the ideological department of the City Executive Committee. There were also representatives of the sate TV channels and the city militia department in the room.
The Chernobyl Way applicants refused to have talks in the presence of the TV operators. The policymakers told the officials that they were ready to have talks on order and security guarantees to all the Chernobyl Way participants.
It is to be mentioned that the Chernobyl Way is to start in Yakub Kolas Square 26 April at 6 p.m.
