In Prison Hospital Zmitser Dashkevich Treated for Osteochondrosis 17:58, 25/04/2007
As the human rights center Viasna has found out, a young activist Zmitser Dashkevich is treated for osteochondrosis in republican prison hospital in Minsk. He is injected Vitamin B12. The leader of the “Young Front” does not know for how long he is to stay in prison hospital. However, he says that all sick prisoners dream to return from the prison hospital, as conditions are very harsh there.
In the hospital a punishment follows any minor transgression. And there is no indulgence for sick prisoners sent for therapy.
As we have informed, the political prisoner Zmitser Dashkevich has arrived to the republican prison hospital in Minsk for medical check-up. Before the arrest doctors prohibited heavy labour for him, because of problems with his vertebral column. Despite of that, the young activist was sent for wood cutting. After that his pain in the back increased.
In Minsk Zmitser Dashkevich was visited by his lawyer. They discussed an issue of challenging the verdict and filing a supervision appeal.
