Lukashenka’s Short Stay in Moscow 13:18, 26/04/2007
At 6 .10 p.m. official news agency BelTA informed that Alyaksandr Lukashenka left Minsk for Moscow. He took part in the mourning ceremonies in Moscow over the death of former Russian president Boris Yeltsin.
Together with other leaders of states and governments he took part in a memorial service in Moscow`s Cathedral of Christ the Savior.
It looks like Lukashenka was absent during the funeral in the Novodevichy Cemetery, where about 100 persons were present, mostly Boris Yeltsin’s family, close friends and leaders of states – Vladimir Putin, Bill Klinton, Nursultan Nazarbayev, Leonid Kuchma, George Bush senior, Lech Walesa and others. At least, his presence hasn’t been noted by BelTA, while Russian TV cameras haven’t recorded him.
