Belarusian Democrats at Brussels Forum :: Charter'97 :: News

27-28 April the second Brussels Forum was held in the Capital of the European Union. The Forum is announced as annual upper- level meeting of the most influential American and European policymakers, intellectuals, journalists and businessmen for discussion of the vital issues of the world politics and for determination of the transatlantic unity agenda.

This year heads of state, ministers for foreign affairs, parliamentarians, analysts and public figures came to the Forum. A wide range of issues was discussed. Among those were situation in the Middle East, globalization issues, civil freedoms, global intensions of Russia, problems of the post-soviet states as well as Iran, Afghanistan, Iraq, Turkey etc.

The Forum major organizer is the German Marshall Fund of the United States. The Forum participants are provided with the possibility of discussing the most acute issues of the modern world with the world leaders in the informal atmosphere.

The Belarusian representatives also participated in the Forum. Among those were leader of the “We Remember” initiative Irina Krasouskaya and coordinator of the Charter’97 Andrey Sannikov.
