We pay for free ad easy life of the BRSMs, don’t we?
16:14, 11/05/2007

The Vitebsk city executive committee ordered 27 entrepreneurs of the regional center to provide benefits for members of the pro-official Youth Union (BMSR). Even a corresponding agreement was concluded with the entrepreneurs. Special discounts for those who have membership cards of the Youth Union (BMSR) are foreseen in the agreement.

For example, a private entrepreneur Yanchanka agreed to provide a 10% discount to the Youth Union (BMSR) members for traveling in public city and suburban transport. At the “Galisima” hairdressers’ a hairdo will be made to a young stylish girl and a haircut - to a young man at a price 20% lower than average. It will be 10 % more beneficial to repair the worn shoes at the “Kabluchok” shoe- repairs’ owned by Atadjinyan. Less money will be paid by the Youth Union (BMSR) members at the photo-shops, Internet clubs, for repairing mobile phones. Even shipments will be cheaper for them. Such benefits do not only allow students and schoolchildren to save some money, but also some most initiative BMSR members to open their business, Radio Ratsia reports.

Certainly, the entrepreneurs were not very eager to help young conformists but they found it senseless to quarrel with the city authorities.

Nobody conceals that the real aim of such action is to attract as many as possible young people to the state organization .Now the pure ideological appeal won’t make the present day “komsomlol members” go and work at the construction sites in the regions contaminated after the Chernobyl disaster only. That is why the attractive means of increasing the membership of the “youth vanguard” have been invented. As for example, at the Vitebsk University where telephones were raffled of among those who had applied for membership in the union. There were lots of applicants.

The authorities do not worry that in the situation of likely cancellation of the benefits for the least protected population layers, including the veterans of the Second World War, feeding of young conformists does not look very moral.
