A concert-presentation of a new album of “Krama” which had been planned for May 30 in Night Star club in Minsk, is banned. The European Radio has been informed about that by an administrator of the group Pavel Kashyryn. As said by him, directorship of the club had to deny the premises after a telephone call from an upper instance. Pavel believes that it was a call from ideology department of Minsk city executive committee.
Last week Pavel Kashyryn had a meeting with the head of culture department of Minsk city executive committee Viktar Kurash. It was another attempt to get a one-time license for holding a concert of “Krama”. Kashyryn was denied license. The reason for that was that, according to ideology officials of Minsk city executive committee, musicians and works of “Krama” have “a low artistic level”. On the same evening a phone call with apologies from the club was received.
On Monday, May 15 Pavel Kashyrin wrote another application for one-time license for holding “Krama” concert.
As we have informed, “Krama” is on the list of “prohibited” rock groups in Belarus for taking part in concerts and meetings organized by the democratic forces of the country.
