Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Fradkov has signed a statement to build a second leg of the Baltic Pipeline System (BPS), which would allow doing without transit via Belarus and Poland, the Russian government`s press service said Monday.

As workers told to the Charter’97 press-center, the protest has been caused by illegal dismissals, non-payment of bonuses and diminishing salaries, carried out by the current management of “Varanyany”.
15 May in the afternoon the flat of the former presidential candidate, political prisoner Alyksandr Kazulin’s sister was robbed. Her husband and daughter also live in this flat. The flat was robbed when all the family members were at work. The robbery was committed very quietly. The robbers wore gloves. The notebook, cash and jewelery were stolen. The situation was commented to the press- service of Alyksandr Kazulin by his sister Alena.
Today a verdict to one of the applicants for holding a protest rally “Charnobylski Shlyakh-2007”, an activist of the United Civil party Valyantsina Palevikova, was announced at noon. Alyaksandr Milinkevich has been elected the leader of the public organization “For Freedom!” at a statutory meeting of the organization in Hrodna. Despite of the attempts of law-enforcers to interfere with the meeting, delegates managed to carry out the procedures necessary for registration of the organization – approved the Statute, elected the chairman and governing bodies. About 100 public leaders and political activists from all over Belarus have been present at the meeting.
In Minsk Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad will discuss a number of “topical issues of bilateral cooperation” with Alyaksandr Lukashenka. The Iranian leader has arrived to Belarus on a two-day visit. Summing up the results of the visit, as Belarusian official sources inform, a number of trade agreements is to be signed.
