“Cottage of representatives’ dweller” Kamyanetsky: those who have not become disabled are not liquidators
16:15, 22/05/2007

23 May the” house of representatives” of the National Assembly is to adopt the two readings of the bill ”On state social benefits, rights and guarantees for separate categories of citizens”. This was reported to the BelaPAN by chairman of the permanent commission on labor, social security, and relationship with veterans and invalids Syargei Kamyanetsky.

Moreover, the “parliamentarian stressed that the benefits were not to be annulled but to be put in order. “The part of the benefits remains, the others are to be redistributed, he said. The state support will be delivered not generally but individually to those who really need it”.

Kamyanetsky remarked that the benefits to all invalids, war participants, Heroes of the Soviet Union are to be completely retained. ”But the benefits to them and not to their families”, the parliamentarian stressed. Dwelling on the liquidators of the Chernobyl disaster consequences S. Kamenetsky remarked: “The liquidators who have become disabled are not to be deprived of any benefits. The others are not liquidators but something different. Someone who went on a business trip for two days and it is uncertain whether he went there or not”.

According to the “deputy” the bill is to come into force in half a year after being issued. That means that the benefits will be valid until the New Year. Meanwhile, the President’s order on delivering targeted social support is to be drafted.

S. Kamenetsky remarked that three deputies had been directed to the working group for drafting the order. ”The deputies will prevent the officials from creating obstacles for the needy to receive the targeted social support”, S. Kamyanetsky said. I believe that the targeted social support will be effective”.
