Congress of democratic forces to take place on May 26-27

The Congress of the democratic forces of Belarus is to take place on May 26-27 in the Palace of culture of Minsk automobile plant. There are 916 delegates on the list of the Congress participants. They include activists elected at meetings, participants of election campaigns and 22 prominent personalities: Uladzimir Arlou, Ryhor Baradulin, Nil Hilevich, Radzsim Haretski and others. More than 100 persons have a status of guests. The intrigue of the event lies in presence of opposition leaders, former political prisoners Mikola Statkevich and Paval Sevyarynets.

The occasion when a young activist Tatsyana Tsishekvich was attacked in the campus of the Belarusian State University on May 23, was taken bad. An ambulance car took her to a clinical hospital No. 10. She was checked by doctors. They registered a concussion of the brain. The girl was offered hospitalization, but she refused. Dockors suggested her to address to police.

Sidorsky and Fradkov to coordinate positions in Yalta

Today Belarusian Prime Minister Syarhei Sidorski is to take part in a session of the Council of heads of governments in Yalta. As expected, he is to hold a number of bilateral meetings with his foils from the CIS countries, including Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Fradkov. As Russian mass media inform with a reference to a source in Russian government, more than 200 questions are on the agenda, including a number of draft agreements.
